Luscious Mirrors

I got lucky twice at Home Goods finding luscious mirror pieces. Both are being used as wall decor rather than a typical mirror. The set of 2 geometrical mirrors that I mentioned here were $40.
I chose the space above the couch in our great room:
I decided not to use the geometrical mirrors as sconces, but staggered them side by side for a more dramatic effect:

During another visit I found this gorgeous mirror for only $30:
I chose to put it in our front room to make a dramatic entrance as you walk in the front door. It is perfect in this room along with the color scheme and zebra rug.
A better view:
And, on the wall:
I am loving these mirrored wall pieces. I often see dramatic mirrors, such as this one at Williams Sonoma Home with a high price tag. I love finding similar pieces for less!

People Magazine Showcases Favorite Rooms of Stars

I always love getting a glimpse inside a celebrity's home. People Magazine showcased a few celebrities and their favorite rooms. Check them out:

Tori Spelling:
I love the beige with pops of color. And, her kids are pretty cute, too.
Audrina Patridge:
Loving this room! I love the dark purple walls with the silk curtains and light fixture. Also, I am a fan of the white bedding with the luscious purple throw.
Gilles Marini:
A lovely outdoor room:
Haylie Duff:
A Tiffany blue dressing room. Of course I love it with the mirrored vanity!
Gayle King:
Bold yellow wallpaper:
Cheryl Burke:
A casual living space:
Jeremy Renner:
A home bar. Why go out when you can stay in and have this??
Serena Williams:
A serene master bathroom. Love the claw foot tub!
Curtis Stone:
A cook's kitchen!
Annalynne McCord:
Loving her bedroom. I love the sheer fabric surrounding her bed!
Emily Procter:
The light colored walls and furniture make the space very open:

Curb Appeal Updates

I finally found a mailbox I love and exterior shutters for our house. We ordered our shutters from Home Depot (they were much more helpful than Lowe's!). After doing some online research I decided on black Raised Panel shutters. I love the new look of our house! Another future project will be painting our front door from white to a color, which I haven't yet decided.

My father-in-law doing most of the work:
 One side done:
 Opposite side completed:
 Love the new look!

We got our new mailbox at a hardware store for $45. It came with attachable magazine hooks, but I chose to skip them because the width allows all our mail to fit.

The stone made it difficult to center our mailbox evenly under the address plate. So, my husband got creative and spray painted a piece of wood to be drilled into the stone exactly where we wanted our mailbox.

Possible door colors: Hunter green, blue/gray, navy, maroon. I want something different than the common cherry red. This will probably be a summer project so I have time to decide on a color.

Falling for my favorite candle!

Fall is finally here and with it brings some of my favorite things and that includes my favorite scented candle from Bath & Body Works. My favorite is Leaves. A perfect smell for fall. Right now the large candles are 2 for $20 (originally $20 each)- a great deal so stock up! See all their scents here.
Bath & Body Works also has preview candles for the holidays. I'm looking forward to trying the peppermint! Now only $5 for the small size.

My other fall favorites include everything pumpkin (pumpkin coffee, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin pie, etc) and cooler weather. Now that I'm pregnant I am enjoying the cooler temperatures. Fall also means that it's closer to Christmas, my favorite holiday. I'm also looking forward to wearing my new flat leather boots, a wood-burning fire, hot chocolate, and holiday decorating.
