Land of Nod for the Home

When I hear the name of certain stores I immediately think "kids." Lately I've discovered some great finds at Land of Nod. And sometimes the prices can be lower, which is always a plus. Here are my favorites:

mirror / globe lantern / chevron rug

The letters can be decorated any way you want or painted and they are only $4 each. You can use these to spell a word or phrase ("bath" or "eat" are some examples) or use as a monogram. The globe lantern could be hung in an office. My favorite item above is the sunburst mirror. The suitcases would look cute on a console table or, again, in an office. Great for small storage. You could stick with just one color if the two are too much. The pendant flag could add flair to an outdoor party. I added the hot air balloon because I love this and may get it for Summer's nursery!

Update: unfortunately the globe lantern is no longer on the website. I'm guessing it must have sold out (I saw it just last week).

New Bathroom Print

After expressing my love for flamingos I shopped on Etsy and the web looking for the perfect flamingo print for our downstairs bathroom. I came across the shop, Shorely Chic, and saw this print. Although the aqua polka dot one was adorable, it wasn't what I had wanted. I emailed the shop owner asking if she could create a custom listing with just the flamingo on a white background in an 8x10. It is exactly what I had envisioned for our bathroom and I love it!

Don't you love it?! I also love the other items in her shop. Check them out here.

Beach Vacation!

Last week we went on vacation to the beach with my family. It was a fun and relaxing week! Plus, it was nice to spend quality time with my parents. My brother and his wife have three kids and Ellie loves playing with her two older cousins. It was so fun to see them play together on the beach. They built sandcastles, jumped waves, chased each other and shared lots of laughs. It was too cute! It was the classic vacation of the beach, ice cream, playground, and rides. I wouldn't have it any other way! Here are a few photos of our week:

Ellie said she was making "coffee for Mommy with sugar!"

Anthropologie Finds

I love shopping at Anthropologie. I had such a hard time using my gift card last week because I wanted everything in the store. I love their clothing and jewelry, but I always love browsing their home decor sections. I was especially smitten with their kitchen products. If you are looking to add color to your kitchen or want a few fun accessories check out Anthropologie. Here are my favorites:

Product Info (top left):
1. These measuring spoons are too pretty to be kept in a drawer. You could easily hang them on a wall.
2. I love these patterned dish towels. And, they got good reviews for being very absorbent (not all dish towels are created equal).
3. I would actually use this pitcher because I know it would look pretty chic on my dining table (most of my pitchers can be found in my china closet).
4. An owl cookie jar! A fun accessory for your counter.
5. I love pretty bowls. Use these to hold fruit, veggies, or coffee k-cups.
6. Love this bright yellow patterned place mat. This could even be framed and hung on your kitchen wall. Inexpensive wall art!
7. Another item to hang instead of storing.
8. This table runner could add all the color needed in your kitchen. So pretty!
9. More colorful bowls. I love using bowls to hold anything- keys, change, bag clips, etc.

How cute are these aprons?! I love!

Most of these items are budget friendly, too!

It's Been 4 Years!

Today is my 4th wedding anniversary! I will always remember our day as a beautiful and perfect wedding day. The weather was gorgeous and I still wouldn't change one thing. Even with all the ideas from Pinterest. I loved our wedding from beginning to end and all the details in between.

In four years we bought our first house together (just a few months before our wedding) and had two children. We also celebrated our ten year (dating) anniversary last November. I am so happy to be on this adventure with my husband. He is my best friend and a very supportive, caring, loving husband. And, did I mention he likes to vacuum and do dishes and yard work? I'm a lucky woman!

Cheers, my love, to these four wonderful years and to many more!

Furniture Steals

Driving past our local consignment shop I saw a few contenders and stopped quickly to check them out. I left with two items for only $12. Initially I only wanted the chair (for $10), but I asked if I could also take the table for $12 total. He said yes, and I knew I had gotten a steal. Although they are both Ikea items, they are both in great condition. The chair is currently being used at my vanity in my dressing room/Summer's nursery and I love the modern look of it. The white matches my vanity and looks great with the rest of the room.

I couldn't find the exact same chair on Ikea's website, but it is similar to this.
The Lack table (retails for $8) and I plan to buy this and make a Lego table, as shown below:

I also just bought this beauty for only $10 at a garage sale:

I love the style and even the color and pattern of the fabric, but it's visibly worn and needs to be replaced. I'm thinking of painting the arms and legs white and adding a bold fabric, such as a fuchsia or leopard print. This will be a July project. I can't wait to work on it!
