Weekend Recap

Friday Summer and I spent the day together while Ellie was at lunch bunch. We went to my new favorite coffee shop for lunch and sat outside since it was beautiful out. Summer looked so cute I had to get a picture. She loves wearing her sunglasses. This is one of my new favorite Matilda Jane dresses.
And, had to snap a pic of her favorite way to wear her hair- a braid.
At lunch. Notice her nails...I painted them with a polish I found at Whole Foods. I love the color.
Promised her the carousel after doing a few returns at the mall. I love her smile. We have so much fun together when it's just her and I. I love spending time with each of my girls.

Friday night we had my mother in law come babysit so we could attend a charity event for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I had previously mentioned that a few Philadelphia Eagles would be there and I was most excited to meet Brian Westbrook. It was such a fun night for a great cause. Here are a few pictures.

Saturday afternoon at Ellie's lacrosse
Me going for my long run this afternoon. It wasn't a good run at all. I had a little too much fun this weekend and I was exhausted, but had to do it anyway. It was a tough 8.5 miles. I had to stop a mile from my house on a street with no shade for a rest and I saw a guy on his lawn. I asked him for a glass of water and he gave me a cold bottle. I was very thankful! This evening I dropped off a gift card to Dunkin Donuts as a thank you gift.
I love these Oakley sunglasses- they are a must in sunny weather. I love that they don't slip down my nose when I sweat. I bought them a year ago from Athleta, but this pair is a similar style.
I also just got this Nike tank that I love!
My husband took the girls to a birthday party while I was running. I was also able to fit in a very relaxing pedicure. He was working tonight so the girls and I went to the playground this evening, then to Corner Bakery for dinner.

Hope you had a great weekend!

Friday Favorites + Paint Colors

First, my husband took this picture last night as Ellie got down on the floor to do push-ups with me before bedtime. Then, I did the plank and both girls did it with me. I love when they join me! I love how Summer's hands are folded just like mine.

I just noticed my favorite handbag is now on sale. I have it in black and love it, but am thinking about the light gray for spring. The handles are starting to fray on mine. It's been well loved!

I also love this

I love Madewell tees. I just ordered this one.

I ordered these shoes this week. Can't wait to get them in the mail. Hoping they are light so I can wear them throughout the summer.

I love this pitcher to add color to your table or to hold flowers. A variety of colors to choose from- I love the red and peach.

I picked up these frames this week to add to our stairwell wall gallery. It's looking more complete!

I have decided to paint our great room a light gray. It's currently beige and I need a change. I bought a couple samples and have to go back today for a few more, then I hope to choose the color this weekend. Here are some I am looking at (the top 2 I already have the samples).

Sherwin Williams "Repose Gray"

Sherwin Williams "Knitting Needles"

Benjamin Moore "Horizon"
Benjamin Moore "Moonshine"

Tonight Nick and I are going to a charity event for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I'm really excited because former Philadelphia Eagles players will be there, including my favorite, Brian Westbrook! I'm hoping to get a picture with him. Summer and I are doing errands today while Ellie is at school and lunch bunch. Hoping to be productive! Have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday, Ellie!

Ellie has been asking for weeks when she will be 5. Yesterday she asked, "Mommy, tomorrow when I wake up will I be 5?" Today is the day! Happy 5th Birthday to my love!

'5' Shirt / Skirt / Leggings / Shoes

On Sunday we celebrated her birthday with family and friends at our local YMCA. She had a princess party. Ellie wore a new Elsa dress I had gotten from the Disney store last summer and saved for a special occasion (this one is similar). She loved it! Summer also wore an Elsa dress and her girl friends also dressed in costume. Her boy cousins wore super hero outfits.

She told me she was wishing for a "wagon." This has been on her wish list for a year now. I think we should cave and just buy it for her. However, she is getting a new bike for her birthday!

Last Friday I took the girls into the city to see the musical, Freckleface Strawberry, at the Walnut Street Theatre. We have been taking Ellie the past couple years for her birthday and this year I took Summer, too, now that she is almost 3. The girls were so excited and Summer kept calling it the "movies." I wasn't sure how she would react to the hour long show since she is not a fan of television or movies, but they both surprised me and sat in their seats the entire time. They clapped after each segment and were captivated. The show was great. I enjoyed it, too, and even more so than the previous years. There was lots of singing and dancing and the storyline was great. It was about being happy with who you are and not comparing yourself to other people. Everyone is different and that is what makes each of us special.

It is a rainy day today, but the girls and I are heading out shortly for pink manicures, lunch, then swimming. I gave Ellie a list of things we could do inside today and she chose swimming at our gym. I recently ordered these goggles for her that she will finally get to try out. Tonight we are going to dinner at Jules Pizza (her choice) and cake for dessert!

Weekend Recap

Last Friday Ellie did lunch bunch at school and Summer and I took a trip to King of Prussia mall. I had to return a pair of shoes at Nordstrom and I wanted to go to Athleta. We ended up staying only in Nordstrom. Summer napped in her stroller for an hour (she was up a lot the night before), then woke up very happy. She helped me try on shoes and enjoyed a lollipop. Ellie was also up the night before so I decided to put her in lunch bunch so that she would be happy with friends instead of cranky with me!

On Saturday morning I had lacrosse in the pouring rain. Then, it cleared up for Ellie's first lacrosse session that afternoon. I don't know who was more excited- her or me. She actually said she didn't want to do it, but I told her how I played and how much fun it is and that she had no idea what it was. As soon as we got there she was excited and had fun for the entire hour. The coaches are great and taught them skills (cradling today) while playing games.
 Summer and I playing catch:

After lacrosse we played at the playground, then went to hang out with cousins for a while, which was so nice since we haven't seen them in a while. The girls were starving when we left and it was dinner time so we stopped for pizza and frozen yogurt before heading home.

Sunday morning I went to Whole Foods for breakfast (fruit, oatmeal and coffee) and happened to run into my Mom who was also grabbing something to eat before the gym. So, we got a table and had breakfast together, which was so nice and a great start to my Sunday. I was picking up ingredients for dinner. It is a crockpot dish (Skinnytaste Maple Dijon Chicken Drumsticks) and was really good! In the later afternoon we all went to the gym. I needed to get in a run since it was so cold and windy and I didn't want to run outside. My husband took the girls swimming. I can't believe I was able to run for an hour on the treadmill and I got in a 7 mile run. I felt great, too.

Have a great week!
