Weekend Recap

Saturday I took the girls to see their cousin's soccer game (a fall weekend ritual), then we made the trip to Ikea. I really didn't want to go on a weekend, but I wanted to pick up this light fixture to be installed in Summer's nursery yesterday. Well, of course they were sold out. Bummer. I'll have to live with the ceiling fan for hopefully just a couple more weeks. I did pick up a few boxed ornaments and more white picture frames. How amazing are those silver tassel ornaments? They will be a fun addition to our tree this year. I also bought gingerbread crackers to make a gingerbread house this year with Ellie. I found them in the food department for those interested (only $4). While you're there try one of Ikea's cinnamon buns. They are amazing.
Sunday was the first weekend day in a while that my husband's been home. I took advantage of that. I slept in till 10:00. I can't remember the last time I did that, but it was much needed after a couple nights of being up with Summer. The Roman shades were hung in her nursery and they look great, but I still need to find dark curtains to darken her room. I like the white sheers, but my kids sleep better (and longer) in darkened rooms. That's why I need dark curtains. Ellie has dark gray in her room that I found at Home Goods. I'm hoping I can find ones for Summer's room there, too. They are usually $20-$40 for 2 panels and I need 4.
I went food shopping by myself at Whole Foods and got to enjoy coffee and samples while shopping. How delightful! I was there for about an hour. Might as well take my time. I also scheduled a pedicure (my husband's suggestion) and he played with the girls (while trying to watch the Eagles game). I love this new outfit I bought for Summer from Carter's. It's aqua with little white bows. And, it's a zipper, which is so convenient. I'll be buying this one in 9 months, too.
Whole Foods now sells macaroons. I bought two- chocolate and raspberry. They were good, but not nearly as decadent as others I've tried. While Whole Foods desserts are usually delicious, I was not impressed. Especially for $2 each.
I love Sunday nights because Homeland is on. It's my favorite show, but so far this season is not as good as the last two. When do we get to see Brody?? I am working on a DIY project for Summer's nursery. It involves tissue paper. Will post this week!

Today is my best friend's daughter's birthday. She turned 2. Happy Birthday Jovie! :)
