Five Things Friday

I am hopping on the blog trend of "Five on Friday." It's a good way to summarize my week and what's going on in the Z household.

1) One week 'till our pumpkin carving play date! The girls and I are hosting our first Halloween party. I'm hoping for good weather since we'll be painting and carving outside (a rain date is scheduled just in case). I will have a small pumpkin for each child to paint and I've asked the Moms to bring a big one to carve. I've been looking through magazines and Pinterest for some Halloween inspired snacks and decor.

I'm definitely making these snacks. Such a cute idea! (via Pinterest, no source)

I'm going to AC Moore today to re-create this door sign (via Pinterest, no source)
2) I finally found lamp shades for our bedroom. I've seriously bought six different ones and returned them all. I'm glad I didn't settle. I found these at Bed, Bath, and Beyond for only $16 (with coupon) and I love them. Now I feel like I can finally finish decorating our bedroom (pictures to follow).

3) I joined Ipsy. It's similiar to Birchbox, but Ipsy focuses more on makeup. I've heard Birch Box has been sending out a lot of useless skincare samples. I'm on the wait list, but I heard that can just be a few weeks. I can't wait to try it. It's $10 per month and you can cancel at anytime. So, no monthly commitment. I love trying new makeup products.

4)  I found Serena & Lily at TJ Maxx! And, it's this gorgeous crib skirt for Summer's room. Only $15. I thought it might have been last year's product, but it's still sold on their website for $88! If you love Serena & Lily now is the time to shop. Everything is 20% off for friends and family until October 15th.

5) Friday means just two more days till Homeland! Anyone else hooked on this show? My husband and I just started watching the series this summer after hearing so many good things about it. We both loved the show 24 and this is similar. And, finally, a show we can watch together.

Have a great weekend!
