Rocking Chair Makeover

I picked up this white rocking chair for Ellie over a year ago and it's been in our playroom with the name "Nathan" on it. I really had planned to make it over a lot sooner than now, but better late than never. I chose Valspar's "Plumberry" gloss spray paint- a very pretty purple color.

I didn't realize (and obviously didn't look close enough) that the spray paint is paint and primer in one. So convenient. But, I didn't read the label and wasn't thinking so I primed it first with gray primer. I definitely could have saved myself time and a little bit of money, but I learned my lesson for next time. I feel like I had to do a few extra coats of the purple to cover the gray.

I didn't worry about covering every inch with the primer. This chair also looks good with just the gray, but I wanted a pop of color. I love the color I chose and I will definitely be using it again. The purple is such a pretty color. And, Ellie loves her "new" rocking chair. Perfect for rocking her babies and reading books!
